Missing boy Aprim’s body recovered from jungle near university

‘Where will I look for my son? In the jungle or in the water?’ Cumilla University teacher Nahida Nahid wrote on Facebook in distress after her son went missing. Searches were underway in different places. Many were hoping the child would return. After 20 hours, he was found in a jungle. However, he was found dead.
Police said the body of Aprim (13), who had been missing since Friday afternoon, was recovered from a jungle adjacent to Cumilla University on Saturday afternoon.
Rakibul Islam, officer in charge of Cumilla Sadar South Police Station, said Aprim’s body was found in a jungle in the South Sananda area beside the amusement park Magic Paradise near the south gate of Cumilla University. Police were heading to the scene.
Police could not immediately say how Aprim died.
Aprim was a seventh-grade student at Cumilla Border Guard Public School. He was the son of Nahida Begum, also known as Nahida Nahid, an associate professor in the Department of Bangla at Cumilla University and a fiction writer.

Aprim had been missing since he left his home in the Kotbari area near the university on Friday afternoon. He had gone out with friends to take pictures using his mother’s iPhone.
After her son went missing, Nahida Nahid wrote on Facebook, ‘I have not been able to find my son since 3 pm. His name is Aprim. He is 13 years old and studies in seventh grade. He was wearing this panjabi when he went missing. He took my iPhone to take pictures with his friends and did not return.’
After searching the surrounding areas without finding him, Aprim’s father filed a general diary at the police station. A message was also sent through Moon Alert, an emergency alert system used by police to help locate missing children.
A post on Moon Alert’s Facebook page also said today that Aprim’s body had been recovered.
The post said the relevant police authorities had already started an investigation and were taking necessary steps to determine the actual cause of his death.
