To empower women and alleviate their hardships in the kitchen, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has announced the distribution of LPG cards, following the implementation of family cards. He asserted that the politics of the BNP is centered on the well-being of the people.
The Prime Minister made this announcement on Monday around midday during the inauguration of the re-excavation project of the Ulashi-Jadunathpur canal in Sharsha, Jashore—a site associated with the memory of BNP founder and late President Ziaur Rahman.
Outlining the government's plans, the Prime Minister stated that LPG cards would be provided to women to ease the burden of cooking. Furthermore, free education for girls up to the degree level will be ensured. Within the next five years, the government aims to deliver family cards into the hands of women, and several closed factories are expected to be reopened within the next two to four months.
According to the PM, the autocracy fled during the student-led mass movement, and now is the time to rebuild the nation.
He called upon the local residents to work as volunteers in the canal excavation project. Additionally, he urged everyone to remain vigilant so that no one can disrupt the programs intended for the people.
The Chairman of the BNP also declared that the wealth looted from the public would be returned to them. He noted that if anyone trifles with the destiny of the people, the public will respond as they did on August 5.
Tarique Rahman further assured that the government would fulfill every promise made to the people, meticulously.
