BNP Member of Parliament Rehana Akhter Ranu has called for bringing ousted Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina back to the country. She also said she should be electrocuted on an electric chair in ‘Aynaghor’.

She made the remarks today, Tuesday, while participating in the general discussion on the proposed budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year in the National Parliament. The female reserved-seat MP made the statement during her speech.

She said that she had recently seen an ‘Aynaghor,’ where there was a chair. She claimed that opposition leaders were subjected to electric shocks on that chair. “My demand is that Sheikh Hasina be brought back and given electric shock on that chair,” she said.

She also urged unity among the opposition. “The opposition says to prepare for another movement. I want to say, you should place trust in our Prime Minister and extend cooperation. If division among you leads to the return of the monster Hasina, those who turned their Facebook profiles red will have their lives turned black,” she added.

Regarding the proposed budget, she said tax exemptions had been given on essential goods. “I personally go to the market and I am relieved. The people of this country are also relieved. But there is one issue, businesses do not want to reduce prices once they are increased. I strongly demand market monitoring so that ordinary people like us can benefit from it,” she said.
