Youth hacked to death in Narail, 6 injured

One person was killed and six others were injured in an attack allegedly carried out by a rival group in Lohagara upazila of Narail. The attack took place at around 10:00 am Tuesday in Matiyadanga village under Kotakol Union of the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Miskan Sardar (36), son of Lokman Sardar of the village. The injured are receiving treatment at Lohagara Upazila Health Complex.
One of the injured, Sarfina Begum of the village, said Aslam and his men from the rival group were involved in the attack. She said they, including Miskan, were hacked indiscriminately.
Local residents took them to Lohagara Upazila Health Complex. Miskan's condition deteriorated and he died on the way while being taken to Dhaka for better treatment.
Lohagara Police Station Officer in Charge (OC) Abdur Rahman said the attack took place over a dispute involving the exercise of influence in the village. Police have been deployed in the area. No one has yet come to the police station to file a written complaint.
