UK Expresses Interest in Investing in Aviation Sector

British High Commissioner to Dhaka Sarah Cook paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Thursday. The meeting was held at the prime minister’s office in the National Parliament complex.
During the meeting, the British High Commissioner expressed hope that bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom would further strengthen under the current government. She also proposed enhanced British cooperation in technical education institutions and skills development training.
Discussions were also held on expanding trade between the two countries and increasing British investment in Bangladesh, which is expected to create new employment opportunities.
The High Commissioner also expressed the United Kingdom’s interest in investing in Bangladesh’s aviation sector, particularly following the planned operational launch of the third terminal at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman and the Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir were present at the meeting.
