11 More Children Die from Measles Symptoms

In the last 24 hours (from 8:00 AM Friday to 8:00 AM Saturday), 11 more children have died across the country from measles and measles-related symptoms. Since March 15, a total of 209 children have died from measles symptoms, while 42 children have died after being confirmed positive for measles during this period.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) provided this information in a press release on Saturday.
In the 24-hour period ending Saturday morning, the highest number of deaths occurred in the Chittagong division, where 5 children passed away. Additionally, three children died in the Dhaka division, two in the Sylhet division, and one in the Rajshahi division.
The DGHS also reported that 1,058 more children exhibited measles symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours. Since March 15 of this year, a total of 30,607 children have shown symptoms of the disease. During this period, some 20,475 children were admitted to hospitals with symptoms, and 17,081 of them have returned home after recovery.
Furthermore, the DGHS noted that measles has been officially found in 4,460 children since March 15.
