'Employment-denied' primary teachers' agitation programme

A number of job seekers have alleged that although they were finally selected for the post of assistant teacher in government primary schools, they did not receive appointment letters. They have announced a movement in protest.
They made this announcement at a press conference held at the base of the Raju Sculpture at Dhaka University on Saturday evening.
It was told at the press conference that as part of their program, the recruitment-denied candidates will hold a sit-in at Shahbagh tomorrow, Sunday morning. Before that, they will gather in front of the central library of Dhaka University.
The organizers said at the press conference that since September 24, district-wise lists of appointed teachers have been published in various districts of the country. In those lists, the names or information of about 2,000 candidates from different districts could not be found.
Their demand is that a corrected list be published by tomorrow, Sunday, and that they be given the opportunity to join their respective districts by October 1.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, the Ministry of Primary Education sent a notice to the media regarding this matter. The notice said, "If any of the successful candidates have not received appointment letters by October 1, there is no reason to be worried about it. After proper scrutiny later, their appointment letters will be sent gradually as soon as possible."
The notice, signed by Asif Ahmed, senior information officer of the ministry, further said that verification/vetting is a regular process in the recruitment of government officials and employees. Due to this, there may be a difference in time in issuing appointment letters. Candidates are requested not to be "confused" about this.
As part of the recruitment of assistant teachers in government primary schools-2025, a written examination was held simultaneously in 61 districts of the country (excluding the three hill districts) on January 9. A total of 69,265 candidates who passed the written examination were selected for the viva examination.
Later, on February 8, the Directorate of Primary Education published the final result of the recruitment of assistant teachers in government primary schools. In this, 14,384 candidates in 61 districts were finally selected for recruitment, and district-wise results were published.
After the publication of the final result, the process of providing appointment letters to the selected candidates and joining on October 1 began. However, concerns arose over the matter as some finally selected candidates in various districts did not receive appointment letters within the stipulated time.
