The government has taken a plan to provide training for Qawmi madrasa students to create employment opportunities for them both in the country and abroad, said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. He made this statement on Wednesday (September 2) in response to a supplementary question from Member of Parliament Manirul Haque Chowdhury of the Cumilla-6 constituency in the National Parliament.
During the parliamentary session, the Prime Minister said, "In 2006, a decision was taken to form a permanent institution named 'Qawmi Madrasa Education Board Bangladesh' through a gazette notification to coordinate, develop, and conduct public examinations for all Qawmi madrasas across the country. Subsequently, a decision was taken to enact the 'Recognition of the Certificate of Dawra-e-Hadith (Takmil) of Qawmi Madrasas as Equivalent to Master's Degree (Islamic Studies and Arabic) Act, 2018' under 'Al-Haiatul Ulya Lil-Jamiatil Qawmia Bangladesh' and to form six Qawmi madrasa education boards."

The Prime Minister said on June 23, the 'Private Educational Institutions (Madrasa) Manpower Structure and MPO Policy, 2026' was amended to grant recognition to certificates from the six Qawmi madrasa education boards as eligibility criteria for appointments to the posts of Assistant Moulyi (Qari) and Ibtedayi Qari. Opportunities have been created for those with a Dawra-e-Hadith (Takmil) degree along with Ilme Qira'at/Hifzul Quran certificates from Qawmi madrasas to be appointed to these two posts.

In response to a question from Abul Khaier Bhuiyan, MP for Lakshmipur-2 constituency, the Prime Minister said, "We have a regular syllabus, which includes religious education. However, we can certainly review how we can further develop it."

Regarding the nationalization of Ibtedayi madrasas, in response to a supplementary question from Md. Mahbubul Alam, MP for Kurigram-3 constituency, the Prime Minister said, "If a separate notice is given on this matter, I will look into it properly and present it before Parliament."
