For the upcoming academic year, student admission to the 11th grade will proceed under the existing system, utilizing the results of the SSC and equivalent examinations.
Chairman of the Dhaka Education Board and President of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Syed Aktaruzzaman said admission for the 11th grade in the new academic session must be finalized by 15 September.
Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon added, “Admission to the 11th grade will follow the old method, meaning the mark or GPA method.” This announcement came after the publication of results at 10 am in the Ministry of Education's conference room.
This year, the average pass rate for the SSC and equivalent examinations has decreased to 62.25 percent, and a total of 1,16,676 students secured a GPA-5. This represents a decline compared to the 2025 examinations, when the national average pass rate stood at 68.45 percent and 1,39,032 students achieved a GPA-5.
The data also highlights a significant gender gap in performance within the general education boards, as 1,07,982 more female students passed than their male students. Moreover, 11,401 more female students achieved a GPA-5 than male students.
