Supplementary examinations for Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent candidates will begin on December 1, the Dhaka Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education announced on Wednesday.

According to a notice issued by the board, candidates who appeared in the 2026 HSC and equivalent examinations as regular or irregular candidates and failed in a maximum of two subjects, excluding the fourth subject, will be eligible to sit for the supplementary examinations beginning on December 1.

The notice said the application form submission process for the 2026 HSC supplementary examinations must be completed within the stipulated time.

Regarding the payment of examination fees, the notice stated that educational institutions must preserve the Sonali Seba receipts issued in favor of the secretary of the Dhaka Education Board. The total amount payable to the board for examination fees must be deposited through any branch of Sonali Bank.

It further said a probable list containing students’ information would soon be published on the Dhaka Education Board’s website (www.dhakaeducationboard.gov.bd).

Candidates included in the probable list must complete the online form submission process according to the prescribed rules between Thursday and Saturday. The deadline for depositing fees through Sonali Seba is Sunday.

The final candidate list printing option will be activated within 24 hours of depositing the examination fees at the bank.

After printing the final candidate list, educational institutions must verify the information and obtain the candidates’ signatures. The head of the institution must sign every page of the list.

The notice also stated that educational institutions must preserve one printed copy bearing the candidates’ signatures.

Examination fees

The fee for each theoretical paper or subject is Tk 125 for both regular and irregular candidates. The fee for each practical paper or subject is Tk 25.
