SSC exams to begin March 14 of 2027 and end April 15

The schedule for the 2027 SSC and equivalent examinations has been finalized by the Ministry of Education. The theoretical examinations will begin on March 14 next year and end on April 15.

The examination schedule was finalized at a meeting held at the Ministry of Education on Monday afternoon. Syed Akhtaruzzaman, president of the Bangladesh Inter Education Board Coordination Committee and chairman of the Dhaka Education Board, confirmed the matter.

Earlier, a decision had been made to begin the SSC and equivalent examinations on January 7, 2027. The new decision changes that schedule.

In recent years, SSC and equivalent examinations have generally been held in February while HSC and equivalent examinations have been held in April. However, the usual schedule was disrupted several times due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Ministry of Education is reconsidering the examination schedule to reduce the loss of valuable time in students’ academic lives. As part of this effort, the ministry said in a notification on March 25 that preparations were underway to take several reform measures including assessing the feasibility of completing the SSC and HSC examinations by December 31 every year.
