DMP arrests 500, files 58 cases in 24-hour drive

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrest 500 people across the capital in the last 24 hours, during which 58 cases were filed.
Among those arrested, 46 were from the Ramna Division, 49 from the Lalbagh Division, 65 from the Wari Division, 85 from the Motijheel Division, 53 from the Tejgaon Division, 101 from the Mirpur Division, 34 from the Gulshan Division, and 43 from the Uttara Division.
Detective Branch (DB) arrested 17 people, while the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit detained seven individuals.
During the operations, police seized two foreign pistols, five rounds of ammunition, two magazines, 12.2 kilograms of marijuana, 6,647 pieces of Yaba, and 40 bottles of Phensedyl, 100 grams and three small packets of heroin, a five-kilogram brass net, six mobile phones, three machetes, one hammer, and a toy pistol were recovered, and one victim was rescued.
DMP said legal action is underway.
