Police will submit a charge sheet in court against the prime accused, Sohel Rana, and his wife, Swapna Akhter, in connection with the case over the rape and murder of child Ramisa Akhter in the capital's Pallabi. Following the completion of all investigative formalities, the charge sheet has been prepared against the two accused.
This Sunday morning, the investigation officer of the case and Sub-Inspector (SI) of Pallabi Police Station, Ohiduzzaman, stated that the charge sheet against the two accused is ready. He added that they would attempt to submit it to the court at around 11:30 AM today.
According to the details of the incident, Ramisa left her house at around 9:30 AM last Tuesday. The accused, Sohel Rana, deceptively took her to a room on the third floor of a five-story building. Around 10:30 AM, her mother began searching for Ramisa so she could go to school. At one point, she arrived in front of the suspects' room, noticed Ramisa was there, and called out for her.
Receiving no response from inside, Ramisa's mother called other residents of the flat and entered the room. There, inside the bedroom of Sohel and Swapna, they discovered Ramisa's headless body and her severed head inside a bucket. Sohel's wife, Swapna, was standing inside the room at that time.
Following this brutal incident, the child's father, Abdul Hannan Mollah, filed a murder case with Pallabi Police Station on May 19, naming two individuals as accused. After the case was filed, police initially arrested Swapna Akhter. Later, the prime accused, Sohel Rana, was arrested from the Fatullah area in Narayanganj.
The following day, May 20, the main accused, Sohel Rana, appeared in court and gave a confessional statement admitting his guilt. On the same day, the court ordered the other accused, Sohel's wife Swapna Akhter, to be sent to jail.
