DMP arrests 458, seizes drugs and weapons

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 458 individuals during regular operations across the capital over the last 24 hours.
DMP confirmed the matter in a press release on Tuesday and filed 64 cases.
The arrests included 34 people from the Ramna Division, 37 from the Lalbagh Division, 49 from the Wari Division, 36 from the Motijheel Division, 57 from the Tejgaon Division, 135 from the Mirpur Division, 31 from the Gulshan Division, and 71 from the Uttara Division.
Moreover, Detective Branch (DB) arrested six people, and Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit arrested two.
During these operations, police seized 11.980 kilograms of cannabis, 6,336 Yaba tablets, and 90 bottles of Phensedyl, one shutter gun, one samurai sword, 17 mobile phones, and 30 blank checkbook pages, Tk 1,080 in cash and Tk 28 lakh in counterfeit notes.
DMP said legal proceedings are underway.
