Over fifty crude bombs detonated following brutal attack on senior citizen, tendons severed

Allegations have surfaced that a 75-year-old man named Esahak Sardar was hacked and had the tendons of both his legs severed by rivals in Kalkini, Madaripur, over a previous enmity. The incident occurred last Friday.
He was first taken to Kalkini Upazila Health Complex in critical condition. Later, as his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The following day, on Saturday afternoon, there were allegations of an attack on the elderly man's house, vandalism of two residential rooms, and over fifty bomb explosions.
During this time, three young men were injured while trying to stop the attackers, it has been reported. After the incident, panic spread in the area, and additional police were deployed to bring the situation under control.
According to police and local sources, Esahak Sardar, son of Nosai Sardar of North Janardandi village in Kalkini municipality, had a long-standing feud with Jalu Molla of the same area. Around 11 PM on Friday, Esahak was returning home alone after having tea at a nearby shop. Several people who had taken position beforehand blocked his way.
The victim's family has alleged that under the leadership of Jalu Molla, several people including Tuhin Molla, Parvez Molla, Rabiul Molla, and Limon Molla first hacked Esahak. Later, they severed the tendons of both his legs and left him on the road. Locals rescued him in critical condition and took him to the hospital.
Later, on Saturday afternoon, the victim's family alleged that led by Jalu Molla, several people including Delowar Howlader again attacked the house. At that time, bombs were exploded in front of the house in phases, and two residential rooms were vandalized.
Locals said that Zahid Khan (25), Rajib Sardar (25), and Nazmul Bepari (23) were injured while trying to stop the attackers. They were given initial treatment locally.
Upon hearing the news, police from Kalkini Police Station rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Additional police have been deployed in the area to avoid further clashes.
Ismail, a relative of the injured Esahak Sardar, said, "Due to previous enmity, Jalu Molla and his men hacked Esahak Sardar and severed the tendons of both his legs. The next day, they attacked the house again, vandalized it, and exploded bombs. We demand a fair investigation and exemplary punishment for the culprits."
Attempts were made to contact Jalu Molla regarding the allegations, but he was not found in the area. His mobile phone was also found switched off.
Zahirul Alam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kalkini Police Station, said, "Primarily, it has been learned that the attack occurred over a land-related dispute. Upon receiving the news that a man's leg tendons were severed, police went to the spot and brought the situation under control. The allegations of vandalism are also being investigated. Legal action will be taken against those involved after a written complaint is received."
After the incident, a tense situation prevails in the North Janardandi area. Police surveillance has been increased to prevent any fresh clashes.
