ACC raids former army officer Ziaul Ahsan’s home

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) conducted a raid at the Jolshiri residence of former Major General Ziaul Ahsan.

ACC shared the information in a text message. A team led by ACC Deputy Director Md Hafizul Islam carried out the raid. During the operation, officials are preparing an inventory of items stored at the residence.

Ziaul served in various key intelligence and security agencies of the state. Allegations against him include enforced disappearances and murder, crimes against humanity, secret detention and torture, abuse of power, corruption, and the acquisition of illegal wealth.

Legal proceedings against him began after the fall of Awami League in 2024. He was then sent into mandatory retirement from the army.
