Cocktails explode in front of High Court and Shilpakala Academy areas

Two cocktail explosions were reported in the capital, one in front of the High Court and the other near the Shilpakala Academy. The explosions occurred between approximately 1:15pm and 1:30pm on Sunday, on the road in front of the High Court’s main gate and near the Shilpakala Academy.

Zahidul Islam, deputy commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Ramna Division, said a cocktail exploded on the road in front of the High Court around 1:15pm. A similar explosion occurred in front of the Shilpakala Academy at nearly the same time.

“Details are being investigated,” he said.
