Zia murder accused Mozaffar appears before ICT

Major (Retd) Mozaffar Hossain, an accused in the president Ziaur Rahman’s assassination case, was produced before the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) from Dhaka Cantonment on Thursday.
The prosecution will seek permission from ICT-2 to show him as arrested in crimes against humanity case and will request permission for interrogation. Earlier, the court had ordered his appearance following an application by the Chief Prosecutor on Tuesday.
A hearing is scheduled before a judicial panel led by the Chairman of ICT-2 Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury. The prosecution applied for a production warrant against Mozaffar on 21 July.
Mozaffar Hossain was arrested on 16 July from a residence in Banani, Dhaka, after remaining a fugitive for nearly 45 years. The following day, he was handed over to the Military Police at Dhaka Cantonment.
