Mozaffar Hossain, an accused in president Ziaur Rahman’s assassination case, has been shown arrested in crimes against humanity case lodged in Feni during the July mass uprising in 2024.

Chairman of ICT-2 Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury issued the order following a petition by the prosecution.

Moreover, ICT’s investigation agency has been granted permission to interrogate him for two days. ICT said while Mozaffar Hossain will remain in military custody, he will be handed over to the investigation agency during the interrogation period.

Earlier, around 9:30 am, he was brought to the ICT from Dhaka Cantonment. On Tuesday, the court had ordered his production warrant following an application by the chief prosecutor.

Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested Mozaffar, 77, who had been a fugitive for 45 years, on 16 July from a residence in Banani, Dhaka. The following day, he was handed over to the Military Police at Dhaka Cantonment.
