Those involved in placing bombs in Motijheel and other locations arrested

The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested individuals involved in placing bombs at various locations, including the Motijheel Metro Rail Station, in the capital.
This information was shared in a message issued by the DMP DC-Media on Tuesday (August 11). To provide details regarding the arrestees, the CTTC will hold a press conference at the DMP Media Center today (Wednesday, August 12) at 12:30 PM. DMP Additional Police Commissioner (CTTC) Mohammad Shamsul Haque will brief the media.
Recently, the Bomb Disposal Unit safely detonated and neutralized a pipe bomb found inside a bag near Motijheel Metro Rail Station. Additionally, abandoned objects caused bomb scares in Mirpur and Tejgaon; subsequent inspections by the police and the Bomb Disposal Unit confirmed that those objects contained no explosives or hazardous materials.
On August 1, abandoned items under the Mirpur-10 and Farmgate Metro Rail stations similarly triggered panic. The item in Mirpur turned out to be a container of chewing tobacco and betel leaf, while the one in Farmgate was ordinary trash.
Meanwhile, near Dhaka in the Khejurbagan area of Ashulia, a powerful pressure cooker bomb (IED) was recovered from a bag left in front of a tea stall. The Bomb Disposal Unit later neutralized it safely through a controlled explosion.
Law enforcement agencies had been investigating these incidents. As a result of their ongoing efforts, the CTTC successfully arrested those involved in placing bombs in Motijheel and other locations.
