Man Crushed Between Two Buses in Chankharpool

A man named Joydeb Pandey, 38, died after being crushed between two buses while attempting to board a vehicle in the Chankharpool area of Dhaka city.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at around 4:15 pm in front of the new building of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Joydeb was a distributor of Royal Laboratories (herbal medicine) by profession. The two buses involved in the incident have been seized.
Bus passenger Musa Gazi, who was brought to DMCH, said Joydeb was trying to board a bus of Moumita Paribahan in the Chankharpool area in the afternoon. As the bus started moving, another bus from the same company was passing by at high speed. He was then crushed between the two buses and seriously injured.
Local people rescued him and took him to the DMCH emergency department around 4:30 pm, where doctors declared him dead.
Shahbagh Police Station Sub-Inspector Md. Khalek Mia confirmed the incident. He said two buses of Moumita Paribahan involved in the accident have been taken into police custody. One driver has been arrested in connection with the incident. The body has been kept at the DMCH morgue.
