DMP arrests 480 in anti-crime crackdown

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 480 people, including drug dealers, during regular drives conducted across Dhaka in the last 24 hours
DMP confirmed the matter in a press release on Friday.
According to the press release, the division-wise breakdown of arrests includes 21 individuals by the Ramna Division, 41 by the Lalbagh Division, 71 by the Wari Division, 49 by the Motijheel Division, 90 by the Tejgaon Division, 124 by the Mirpur Division, 32 by the Gulshan Division, 51 by the Uttara Division, and 1 by the Detective Division.
During the drives, law enforcement officials recovered 1.160 kilograms of cannabis, 2,237 pieces of Yaba tablets, 20 bottles of Phensedyl, 8 mobile phones, 1 cleaver, one victim, and cash amounting to Tk 35,000.
The press release added that the process of taking legal action against the arrested individuals is underway.
