Prime Minister assumes responsibility for Ramisa's elder sister, consoles father

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has offered words of consolation to the father of Ramisa Akter, a second-grade student who was the victim of rape and a brutal murder. Additionally, he has taken full responsibility for Ramisa's elder sister, Raisa Akter.
The Prime Minister visited Ramisa's residence in Pallabi, Mirpur, in the capital on Thursday night. During the visit, he spoke with the grieving family members and patiently listened to Ramisa's father.
Accompanying the Prime Minister were Home Affairs Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md. Asaduzzaman, State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque, Dhaka North City Corporation Administrator Shofiqul Islam Khan Milton, the Prime Minister's Press Secretary Saleh Shibli, and Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon, among others.
Eight-year-old Ramisa was murdered last Tuesday. Following the incident on the same day, police arrested Shohel Rana and his wife Swapna, tenants of an adjacent apartment. They were later sent to jail through court orders.
Ramisa Akter was a second-grade student at the local Popular School. Her father, Abdul Hannan Mollah, works at a recruiting agency, and her mother is Parvin Akter. Ramisa was the younger of their two daughters. Her elder sister, Raisa Akter, is a ninth-grade student at a local school.
