Investigation report submitted to tribunal against Sheikh Hasina and 10 others

An investigation report has been submitted to the International Crimes Tribunal over the killing of councilor and former Teknaf Upazila Jubo League President Ekramul Haque in Teknaf, who was killed in what was described as an anti-drug operation.
The report was submitted on Sunday morning against 11 people, including fugitive former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Earlier, on May 4, 2018, the Awami League launched a nationwide anti drug campaign under the slogan, “Let’s Go to War, Against Drugs.”
On the night of May 26 that year, Ekramul Haque was killed in what was described as a gunfight in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar.
Ekram was also affiliated with the Awami League. He served as councilor of Ward No. 3 of Teknaf Municipality. He also served as president of Teknaf Upazila Jubo League for 12 years.
Seven years after the incident, Ekram’s wife, Ayesha Begum, filed a case with the International Crimes Tribunal in April last year.
