The High Court has granted bail to Mahmud Hasan Mahin, the prime accused in the murder case of scrap trader Lal Chand, alias Sohag (39), in front of Sir Salimullah Medical College and Hospital (Mitford Hospital) in Old Dhaka.
The High Court bench led by Justice Ruhul Quddus and Justice Syed Hasan Zubayer granted the bail on September 28.
Along with granting a 6-month bail, the High Court also issued a rule asking why Mahin should not be granted permanent bail.
Meanwhile, Sohag's son Sohan was stunned by this bail. At a press conference today, (Monday) Sohag's son said, "Mahin is the mastermind — how was he granted bail? I am putting this question to the law of the country. How degraded must the law be that it grants bail to a bad, heinous accused like him? Let them do one thing — take money and grant bail to everyone, and keep us in safe custody."
It may be mentioned that Mahmud Hasan Mahin is the prime accused in the murder case of scrap dealer Lal Chand, alias Sohag (39), in front of Sir Salimullah Medical College and Hospital (Mitford Hospital) in Old Dhaka. Lal Chand was murdered on July 9 in broad daylight.
