Tarique Rahman to Distribute Food in 16 Locations in Dhaka

The BNP will distribute food items and clothing among destitute and underprivileged people in the capital on the occasion of the 45th death anniversary of party founder and former President Ziaur Rahman.

The program will be held simultaneously at 16 locations on May 30, jointly organized by the Dhaka North and South units of the BNP. The venues include 15 parliamentary constituencies in Dhaka city and the area in front of the party’s central office.

BNP Media Cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan told Agamir Somoy that BNP Chairperson and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will oversee the distribution of food and clothing at all 16 locations, including the 15 constituencies and the area in front of the central office.

The program will begin at 11:30 a.m. from the T&T School ground on Manik Mia Avenue, sources said.

Leaders and activists from various levels of the BNP central and affiliated organizations will be present at the respective venues during the program.

The Supreme Court Bar Association will also distribute food and clothing separately this year, continuing its annual tradition.

Organizers said the initiative aims to provide humanitarian assistance and stand beside underprivileged people ahead of Eid.

Earlier, a coordination meeting was held at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan. The meeting took place on Tuesday (May 26) from 12:10 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., chaired by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General and Prime Minister’s Political Adviser Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

The meeting was attended by BNP Joint Secretary General Abdus Salam Azad, Volunteer Affairs Secretary Mir Sarafat Ali Sapu, State Minister for Shipping, Roads and Bridges Rajib Ahsan, Dhaka Metropolitan South Jubo Dal Convener Khandaker Enamul Haque Enam, along with leaders and activists from BNP and its affiliated organizations.

Sources confirmed that the meeting discussed overall preparations and coordination for the program scheduled for May 30.
