Top Criminal ‘Kailya Palash’ Shot in Rampura

Yasin Khan Palash (50), also known as “Kailya Palash,” a listed top criminal, has been shot in a shooting incident in the capital’s Hatirjheel area.

The incident took place around 2:00 PM on Friday in the Rampura TV Center area, when he was reportedly targeted by unidentified assailants.

When contacted, Hatirjheel Police Station Officer-in-Charge Asaduzzaman said Palash had attended a milad at his residence earlier in the day. After offering Friday prayers at a mosque, he was standing near the opposite side of the Rampura TV Center on his way home when two unidentified individuals arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire before fleeing the scene.

When asked whether he is alive or dead, the OC said Palash was immediately rescued and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. “We cannot yet confirm his condition,” he said, adding that Palash is a listed top criminal.

Inspector Md. Faruk, in charge of the DMCH police outpost, said, citing doctors, that the injured man is in critical condition.
