BNP serves show cause notice on MP Fakhruddin Ahmed Bachchu

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has served a show-cause notice on Fakhruddin Ahmed Bachchu, the lawmaker from the Mymensingh-11 (Bhaluka) constituency, over allegations of violating party discipline.
The matter was confirmed by the BNP central office on Saturday.
However, no details were provided regarding the specific allegations outlined in the show-cause notice against the MP.
Earlier, several media outlets published reports accusing Fakhruddin of various irregularities, including alleged control over the local jute trading business.
People familiar with the matter said the BNP took disciplinary action over the alleged violation of party discipline in the context of those allegations.
Fakhruddin Ahmed Bachchu was elected as the BNP candidate from the Mymensingh-11 (Bhaluka) constituency in the 13th National Parliamentary Election. He secured victory with 110,214 votes, while his nearest rival, independent candidate Muhammad Morshed Alam, received 65,591 votes. Bacchu won the seat by a margin of 44,623 votes.
