Gold prices have increased and the price of 22-carat gold is Tk 2,30,772 per bhori (11.664 grams).
Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced the new price through a press release on Monday.
The price of 21-carat gold is now Tk 2,20,391 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk 1,89,248, and traditional method gold at Tk 1,54,606.
BAJUS said the adjustment was made in line with overall market conditions following a rise in the local price of tejabi gold, or pure gold.
The notice added that wages are determined based on the ornament’s design. As VAT is already included in the selling price of gold jewelry, it cannot be charged separately to customers. A decision on VAT for silver ornaments will be announced.
BAJUS’s existing rules will continue to apply for ornament exchange and purchase, excluding specific VAT, labor charges, and stones.
Meanwhile, silver prices remain unchanged and 22‑carat silver is selling at Tk 5,249 per bhori, 21‑carat at Tk 5,015, 18‑carat at Tk 4,257, and traditional silver at Tk 3,208.
