Friend arrested in model Ridhika Ridhi’s death

Police have arrested Hasibur Rahman, a friend of model and actress Ridhika Ridhi, in a case filed over allegedly abetting her suicide.
Officer in Charge (OC) Mazharul Islam of Bhatara Police Station confirmed the matter Sunday morning.
He said Ridhika’s mother filed a case Saturday accusing someone of abetting suicide. Hasibur Rahman was named as an accused in the case. He was arrested from the scene when he arrived to see Ridhika on the day of the incident. He was later sent to court.
The OC further said Ridhika was on a video call with her friend Hasibur Rahman at the time of the incident. Police have initially learned that they had argued and had a dispute before the incident. However, the actual cause of her death and the circumstances surrounding it are being investigated.
Ridhika’s body was recovered from a residence in the capital’s Bashundhara Residential Area early Saturday. She was later taken to Kurmitola General Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
Police initially suspect that Ridhika died by suicide. However, an investigation into the incident is underway. The actual cause of her death and whether anyone was involved will become clear after the investigation.
Alongside modeling, Ridhika acted in several dramas. Among the notable dramas she appeared in are ‘Ekhane Manush Bikri Hoy,’ ‘Bahurupi,’ ‘Double Honeymoon’ and ‘Sundori.’
