The Fire Service and Civil Defence has launched an e-fire license system. The aim is to make public service access easier and faster.

The initiative was inaugurated on April 30 at 3:00 PM in a ceremony held at the conference room of the EOC Building in Mirpur-10, Dhaka. It was formally launched by the Director General of the department, Brigadier General Muhammad Zahed Kamal.

During the event, it was announced that the previous manual fire licensing process has been discontinued. From now on, the entire system will be handled online, allowing applicants to complete all steps, from application to receiving the license, from home.

All services including new licenses, renewals, and re-evaluations are being processed online from May 1. At the same time, all manual applications related to fire licensing have been stopped.

The opening remarks were delivered by Lieutenant Colonel Md. Mahmudul Hasan, Team Leader of the e-Fire License Implementation Team and Director (Operations and Maintenance). He said the digital system will reduce time, hassle, and increase transparency in service delivery.

Officials from various levels of the department joined the event online and praised the new initiative. Among them were Director (Administration and Finance) Md. Shahid Atahar Hossain, Deputy Director Md. Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Director of Chattogram Division Md. Jasim Uddin, Deputy Director of Rangpur Division Md. Anwarul Haque, and Assistant Director of Sylhet Md. Taufiqul Islam Bhuiyan.

Directors, deputy directors, and other officials of the department were present at the event. Representatives from the project implementation company, Perky Rabbit Corporation Limited, also attended. Fire Service officials from different divisions across the country joined virtually.
