Cabinet Division issued the gazette notification on Saturday, marking the first major cabinet reshuffle of the BNP-led government.

The notification distributed portfolios to four newly sworn-in full ministers and two state ministers.

On Friday, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir took the oath of office as 23rd president. Following his oath, he administered the oath of office to the four ministers and two state ministers in phases.

These newly appointed ministers include BNP Standing Committee member Abdul Moyeen Khan, Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) Chairman Andaleeve Rahman Partho, former State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Rashiduzzaman Millat, and Member of Parliament from Bandarban Sa Ching Prue Jerry.

The two newly appointed state ministers are the Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir and Member of Parliament from the Gaibandha-4 constituency Mohammad Shamim Kaiser Lincoln.

According to the official notification, Moyeen received charge of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives. The government promoted Rashiduzzaman from state minister to full minister, appointing him as the minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, where he had previously served as the state minister.

Meanwhile, the government transferred Afroza Khanam (Rita) from her position as the head of the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry to lead the Ministry of Food.

The executive committee member of BNP and MP from Bandarban Jerry took charge as the minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs. This ministry was initially led by Dipen Dewan after the BNP formed the government, though he later resigned from the post.

The government assigned Andaleeve to head the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Zahir Uddin Swapon previously served as the minister of this ministry. Through a separate notification, the government appointed Swapon as the prime minister’s adviser with the status of a minister.

Shamim, the MP of Gaibandha-4 seat, took office as the state minister for Religious Affairs. Kazi Shah Mofazzal Houssain (Kaikobad) serves as the minister for this ministry. The newly appointed state minister, Humayun Kabir, took charge as the state minister for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Since Shama Obayed Islam already holds a state minister position in this ministry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs now has two state ministers serving under Minister Khalilur Rahman.
