Two easy bike passengers killed in bus collision in Manikganj

Two passengers of an easy bike were killed and another person was injured after a bus hit the vehicle on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway in Shibaloy upazila of Manikganj. The accident occurred near the Barongail bus stand area at around 10 am on Thursday.
The deceased were Yasin (22), son of Md. Sahan from Mouhali village in Ghior upazila of Manikganj, and Bablu (28), the easy bike driver and son of Md. Mojahar from the same village.
Police could not immediately identify the injured person.
Quoting local residents, Harun-Or-Rashid, officer-in-charge of Barongail Highway Police Station, said a Selfie Paribahan bus was traveling from Paturia toward Dhaka. At the same time, the easy bike was heading from Mouhali village in Ghior upazila toward Barongail market.
When the vehicles reached the Barongail bus stand area, the bus hit the easy bike, killing Yasin at the scene. The injured were rescued and taken to a hospital, where doctors declared Bablu dead.
OC Harun said police seized the bus after the accident. The bus driver and his assistant fled the scene. Legal proceedings are underway in connection with the incident.
