Primary School Teachers’ Salaries to Be Increased in Phases

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said primary school teachers’ salaries would be increased in phases alongside training initiatives. He made the remarks during a parliamentary session on Wednesday.

At the parliamentary session, the prime minister said school uniforms and school bags would be provided to 12 million students in 65,000 government schools across the country.

He said that during the rule of the ‘authoritarian Awami government,’ only buildings were constructed in the education sector and that there had been no development of human resources.

Speaking about progress in agriculture, the prime minister said the government would reopen agricultural industries that had shut down. He also said that the government had taken various initiatives to introduce modern technology in agriculture in place of traditional methods.
