Jamaat MP’s son-in-law arrested over attack on Salman Muqtadir’s studio residence

Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch (DB) has arrested another person named Mizanur Rahman in connection with the attack, vandalism, looting and gunfire at New Guinea Properties, a residential project of Salman Muqtadir’s studio in the ECB Square area of the capital. He was arrested from the Matikata area of the capital on Monday night.

AFM Anwar Hossain Khan, deputy commissioner of the DB’s Gulshan Division, said the arrested Mizanur Rahman is the son in law of Abdul Gafur, a member of Parliament from the Kushtia 2 constituency. MP Abdul Gafur was also present when Mizanur Rahman was arrested from his residence in Matikata.

The DB said Mizanur Rahman is accused No. 9 named in the First Information Report (FIR). However, his political identity has not yet been confirmed.

A total of seven people have been arrested in connection with the case. Of them, two were arrested by the DB and five by Cantonment Police Station.
