Rumor Scanner confirms MP’s viral video is authentic

A video of Satkhira-4 constituency MP Gazi Nazrul Islam with a woman has been circulating on social media. The fact-checking organization Rumor Scanner said the video is not AI-generated.
Rumor Scanner confirmed the matter on its verified Facebook page on Tuesday and said numerous posts have been found claiming the viral video of the Jamaat-e-Islami MP Gazi is an AI-generated video.
However, Rumor Scanner’s investigation revealed that the video is not AI, but rather authentic. The report mentioned that no inconsistencies were found in the long viral video, nor were there any discrepancies in the audio.
Earlier, Jamaat had claimed it was a fake and AI-generated video after the video went viral on social media. However, once fact-checking organizations identified the video as authentic, the District Jamaat claimed that the woman in the video is the MP’s second wife.
In the 13th National Parliamentary Election, Gazi was elected with 1,06,913 votes under the scales symbol. His nearest rival was the BNP candidate Md Moniruzzaman, who received 85,426 votes.
