Afroza Abbas Appointed Chairperson of Jatiyo Mohila Sangstha

Afroza Abbas has been appointed Chairperson of the Jatiyo Mohila Sangstha.
A notification issued on Tuesday states that, under Sections 8(1) and 8(2) of the National Women’s Organisation Act 1991, she has been appointed to the post from the date of joining.
According to the notification, her tenure as chairperson will remain valid for two years from the date of joining. However, the government may cancel the appointment at any time before the end of the term if necessary.
Similarly, Afroza Abbas may resign from the post at any time by submitting a signed letter to the government.
The notification also states that her appointment as chairperson will be honorary and unpaid.
Afroza Abbas is a member of the BNP Standing Committee. She is the wife of Member of Parliament Mirza Abbas. She currently serves as the President of the Women’s Wing of the BNP.
