An explosion on a gas line burned three workers at a house in Boroitala, Keraniganj on Friday night.
Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Police Camp Inspector Md Faruk confirmed the matter. The injured workers have been identified as Rakib, 14, Rajon, 25, and Sumon, 27.
Sajeeb, a coworker who was with the victims, said they were working on a gas line at a residence. At one point, an explosion occurred in the pipeline, leaving the three workers burned. The other workers then rushed them to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS).
NIBPS Resident Physician Shaon Bin Rahman said around 17 percent of Rakib’s body was burned. The extent of burns for Rajon and Sumon was relatively less.
However, the exact percentage could not be determined yet as their dressing was still ongoing. The physical condition of all three is stable and they are out of danger.
Faruk added, “Preliminary information about the incident has been taken from the injured. Legal proceedings are underway.”
