China to Assist Teesta Project: Ambassador Yao Wen

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen said that China will not tolerate any external interference in Bangladesh’s internal issues.

He made these remarks during a press conference on Thursday organized by the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka regarding Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s recent visit to China.

Addressing the Teesta project, Yao Wen added, “China will work on the Teesta project at Bangladesh’s request; no other issue is our concern. Moreover, China’s position on the Teesta project remains unchanged. China will continue to assist Bangladesh in this project within its capacity.”

The Ambassador said, “PM Tarique Rahman’s visit to China was highly successful. Through this visit, the relationship between the two countries has improved at a strategic level. A new level of trust has been established between the two countries.”
