Police recovered the hanging body of a Pakistani national from a residence in South Banasree, Dhaka on Tuesday morning.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADC) Mohsin Al Murad confirmed the information. The man has been identified as Mohammad Shahbaz, 26.
Khilgaon Police Station officers recovered the body from a flat in house number 38 on Road 9/5 in South Banasree.
According to the police, Shahbaz’s father’s name is Nazir Ahmed. His home is in Chah Ghulam Mohammad village under Jalalpur Police Station in Multan, Pakistan. He was a businessman.
ADC Murad said, “The Pakistani national lived in Bangladesh. He was in debt. He had a disagreement with his wife over the matter. It is initially suspected that he may have committed suicide out of frustration due to these reasons.”
He added that the guard saw him hanging inside the house and notified the police. Later, police went to the spot, broke open the door, brought him down, and took him to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the doctor declared him dead at 10:50 am. His body is kept in the morgue for an autopsy.
