Prime Minister’s Information Adviser Zahed Ur Rahman said the government of Bangladesh will take necessary measures against those who harassed Muhammad Yunus in the United States.
Blaming supporters of the ousted Awami League for the incident, he said, “We want to tell Awami League terrorists living in various places abroad that if they attempt to take such steps, it will not go unchallenged; there is no question about it.”
Former chief adviser of the Interim Government Yunus was confronted by Bangladeshi expatriates at John F Kennedy (JFK) International Airport in New York, USA on Monday.
Earlier in September, actress Azmeri Haque Badhon was harassed in Italy, an incident in which Awami League supporters were also allegedly involved.
Zahed added that just as the government took steps regarding the harassment incident of actress Badhon, similar steps will be taken this time as well. The government will investigate whether there was any security lapse of Yunus.
