86 deputy attorneys general and 179 assistant attorneys general appointed

The government has appointed 86 Deputy Attorneys General and 179 Assistant Attorneys General to represent the state in cases before the High Court.
The Solicitor’s Office of the Ministry of Law issued separate gazette notifications on the matter Thursday.
At the same time, the appointments of all previous Deputy Attorneys General and Assistant Attorneys General were canceled.
The notifications said that canceling the appointment orders of all Deputy Attorneys General and Assistant Attorneys General, 86 people were appointed as Deputy Attorneys General of Bangladesh and 179 people as Assistant Attorneys General of Bangladesh, until further orders, under the authority vested by Article 3(1) of the ‘Bangladesh Law Officers Order, 1972 (P.O. No. 6 of 1972).’
