Former Mayor and Freedom Fighter Manju Molla Arrested
Freedom fighter Golam Saleh Manju Molla
Police have arrested former mayor of Banaripara Municipality and freedom fighter Golam Saleh Manju Molla in Barishal.
He was arrested early Sunday from his residence in Ward No. 4 of Banaripara municipality town.
Police showed him arrested in a case involving explosives and arson filed by Monir Sardar, former general secretary of the Chakhar Union unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal in the upazila. The former president of the Upazila Awami League is scheduled to be produced before a court in Barishal today.
The matter was confirmed by Banaripara Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mojibur Rahman.
Freedom fighter Golam Saleh Manju Molla is the younger brother of late freedom fighter and Ekushey Padak-winning journalist Golam Sarwar, founding editor of the newspapers Samakal and Jugantor.
