The ruling BNP will remain on the streets to prevent any sabotage or subversive activities surrounding the founding anniversary of the Awami League, whose activities are currently banned.
In line with instructions from the central leadership, leaders and activists of Dhaka North and South BNP, along with its associate and affiliated organizations, will be present in the field from Tuesday morning. They will take peaceful positions at various locations across Dhaka city, including several key points.
Speaking to Agamir Somoy, Dhaka North BNP Member Secretary Md. Mostafa Zaman said, “Our leaders and activists will remain peacefully on the streets and monitor the situation to prevent any activities by the banned Awami League. If members of the banned organization engage in any anti-state activities, they will be resisted.”
Nazmul Hasan, organizing secretary of the Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal, said, “The Awami League, whose activities are banned, has no right to engage in politics in Bangladesh at this moment. Our leaders and activists across the country will remain vigilant. If members of the banned organization take to the streets, they will be handed over to the police.”
