Jet fuel prices are adjusted at the beginning of every month, and the latest revision follows this established schedule.According to BERC, the new prices were determined based on the average published Platts rate for Jet A-1 from September 5 to October 4, the dollar exchange rate applied by Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) in settling Letters of Credit (LCs), and other relevant cost factors.
The commission noted that the international market prices for Jet A-1, exchange rates, and other associated operational costs were thoroughly reviewed before finalizing the October rates. This marks the second consecutive month of rising jet fuel prices. In September, BERC had raised the price of domestic jet fuel to Tk 165.65 per liter from Tk 159.52, while the international rate was increased to $ 1.0770 per liter from $1.0358.
