Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on a High-Speed Train
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has arrived in Beijing, the capital of China. According to the Prime Minister’s Press Wing, Tarique Rahman departed Dalian by high-speed train at 2 pm local time on Wednesday and arrived in Beijing at 5:35 pm He was accompanied by his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman.
Earlier in the day, the prime minister attended the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Annual Meeting of the New Champions, also known as the Summer Davos. The event was held at the Dalian International Conference Center.
The 17th Annual Meeting of the New Champions brought together several world leaders, including Prime Minister Tarique Rahman of Bangladesh, Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah of Guinea, Prime Minister Oljas Bektenov of Kazakhstan, Prime Minister Kim Min-seok of South Korea, Prime Minister Nyam-Osoryn Uchral of Mongolia and Prime Minister Milojko Spajic of Montenegro.
More than 1,700 representatives from the political, business, academic and media sectors, representing over 90 countries and regions, participated in the conference.
Officials and observers said Rahman’s participation in the Summer Davos forum is expected to help Bangladesh expand opportunities for foreign investment and employment while benefiting from international best practices and experiences to strengthen the country’s national capacity.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman arrived in Dalian from Malaysia on Monday.
