The Ministry of Youth and Sports has formed a five-member committee to investigate allegations that the question paper for the recruitment examination for the post of Assistant Upazila Youth Development Officer under the Department of Youth Development was leaked.
The committee is headed by an additional secretary of the ministry. The postponed examination will be held on October 16.
The ministry announced the decision in a notice issued on Saturday.
According to the notice, all preparations had been completed for the preliminary recruitment examination, scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on October 10. However, the examination was postponed after authorities learned that the question paper had allegedly been leaked and circulated on various social media platforms before the test began.
The notice further said that the postponed examination had initially been rescheduled for 3 p.m. next Friday, October 16. Candidates will be notified of the revised schedule again through SMS messages.
The ministry said a five-member investigation committee had been formed, with an additional secretary serving as its convener, to investigate the alleged leak. The committee has been instructed to submit its report within three working days.
According to the notice, disciplinary action will be taken against those found responsible after the investigation report is received.
Meanwhile, candidates blocked several roads in the capital to protest the alleged question paper leak. They demanded severe punishment for those involved and compensation for the affected candidates.
