Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said building the Bangladesh people aspire to is possible if everyone, from their respective positions, performs their responsibilities properly.

He made the remarks on Thursday (28 May) afternoon at a goodwill luncheon titled “Mrittyunjoyee Pochish” held at Zia Colony in Dhaka Cantonment on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha.

Recalling his time in the cantonment, the Prime Minister said that many memories from his childhood and a significant part of his life are closely associated with this place.

According to him, the Bangladesh Army’s high professional standards, sense of duty, and tradition of standing by the people during disasters and in times of national need make him deeply proud. He noted that the Bangladesh Army has consistently served as a symbol of the state’s trust in safeguarding the country’s independence, sovereignty, and the security of its people.

He added that the army’s contributions during national crises and in the country’s development journey will remain memorable to the nation. Expressing hope, the Prime Minister said that every member of the Bangladesh Army will continue to serve the nation in the future with the same dedication, professionalism, and patriotism.

After the luncheon, the Prime Minister exchanged Eid greetings with the attending army personnel. He later inquired about the living conditions and overall well-being of soldiers residing at the army mess.

At the event, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman planted a neem sapling in the army mess compound and signed the visitors’ book. He also performed the Zuhr prayer at the army mess mosque and exchanged Eid greetings with the present army officers and members afterward.
