BGB deployed at key points in Dhaka

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has been deployed at several key points in Dhaka, including Dhanmondi, Shahbagh, Banglamotor, Karwan Bazar, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, and Mohakhali, to help maintain law and order.

BGB Headquarters Public Relations Officer Shariful Islam confirmed the matter today, Tuesday.

He said BGB personnel are performing duties in various strategic areas of the capital in accordance with government instructions.

Earlier, BGB was deployed in five districts of the country, Cox’s Bazar, Madaripur, Sherpur, Gazipur, and Moulvibazar.

On Monday evening, BGB headquarters stated that its members remain on standby for immediate deployment in other districts as needed.

Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies remain on alert in several areas, including Narayanganj, Faridpur, and Chattogram, to prevent any acts of sabotage. Police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have also increased surveillance.
