State Minister’s Surprise Inspection Leads to Stand Release of 16 Staff

State Minister for Shipping and Bridges Division Md. Rajib Ahsan has found irregularities during sudden inspections at various ministries and offices, leading to the stand release of 16 officials and employees. The information was disclosed in a press release from the Ministry of Shipping on Friday.
The release said that the state minister recently conducted surprise inspections at several offices and organizations under the Ministry of Shipping in Barishal and Dhaka. During the visits, some officials and employees were found absent from their workplaces without prior permission. Many others were also seen arriving at the office after the official working hours.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the incidents, the state minister directed administrative action against those involved on charges of negligence and breach of discipline. Following this, 13 officials and employees were stand-released from different departments of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) in Barishal, including nine from the dredging division, two from the navigation and operation division, one from the port and transport division, and one from the accounts division. In addition, the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) immediately transferred three more officials and employees.
The release further said that the state minister instructed all officials and employees to attend office on time and perform their duties with sincerity and responsibility. He also stated that such surprise inspections will continue in the future to ensure discipline, accountability, and quality service in government offices.
