Two Bangladeshi nationals were killed in an attack launched by Houthi rebels on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, said State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam. Additionally, four injured Bangladeshis are currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a hospital in Riyadh, she added.

The junior minister disclosed this information while speaking to reporters at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, Sunday.

Shama said, "Two Bangladeshi nationals were killed in the attack on the Saudi airport. Four Bangladeshis were injured and are currently in the ICU at King Khalid Hospital in Saudi Arabia. We are working to verify everyone's identities."

Meanwhile, Bangladesh strongly condemned the attack earlier this morning.

In an official statement, the government expressed its strong and unequivocal condemnation of the deadly Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. The statement noted that the attack resulted in casualties, including the tragic deaths of two Bangladeshi nationals and injuries to several others, many of whom remain in critical condition.

The statement further mentioned that the Bangladeshi Mission in Riyadh is maintaining close contact with Saudi authorities to gather detailed information regarding the deceased and injured Bangladeshis, as well as to extend all necessary assistance to those affected.

Bangladesh also reaffirmed its solid solidarity with the Government and the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia in the wake of this attack.

The attack took place at the Saudi airport yesterday, Saturday. It claimed 12 lives, including the two Bangladeshis, and left over 300 people injured.

Recently, the Saudi-backed Yemeni government intensified attacks against the Houthis. The Iran-backed group continues to hold control over key regions of the country, including its capital, Sanaa. Amid escalating tensions, the Houthis have been regularly launching drone and missile attacks on critical Saudi infrastructure, such as airports and oil installations.
